Inlay and onlay restorations are advanced, custom-made fillings used to repair teeth with moderate decay or damage, offering a solution that is stronger and more durable than a simple filling. At Dentalays, we use state-of-the-art CAD/CAM technology to create perfect-fit porcelain restorations in Turkey, often in a single visit.

Explore our gallery to see how our precision-milled inlays and onlays seamlessly and invisibly restore the function and natural beauty of damaged teeth.
The cost of porcelain inlays and onlays in Turkey is a fraction of what you would pay in the UK, Germany, or the USA. This is because advanced in-house technology (like CEREC) is more accessible, reducing lab fees. You receive a premium, high-tech restoration for less than the cost of a basic filling back home.
Prices are listed in Euros (€) and vary based on the size of the restoration and the material (e.g., E-Max).
| Procedure | Average Cost in UK/USA | Average Cost in Turkey |
|---|---|---|
| Porcelain/E-Max Inlay | €650 - €1,200 | €200 - €350 |
| Porcelain/E-Max Onlay | €750 - €1,500 | €250 - €400 |

Inlays and onlays (also called "partial crowns") are a type of indirect restoration. Unlike a standard direct filling which is built up inside your mouth, an inlay or onlay is fabricated as a single, solid piece of porcelain in our lab and then bonded to the tooth.
They are the ideal solution when a cavity is too large for a regular filling, but the tooth is not damaged enough to require a full dental crown. This makes them a more conservative treatment that preserves more of your natural tooth structure.
Understanding the difference is easy when you look at the part of the tooth they restore:
In short, inlays and onlays are the perfect "middle ground" treatment between a filling and a crown.
We use only the most advanced, metal-free materials for our restorations:
This is our most-used material. It is a high-strength porcelain that offers the best possible aesthetics, blending perfectly with your natural tooth.
Used with our CEREC machine for same-day restorations, this ceramic is beautiful, durable, and highly biocompatible.
For onlays on back molars that endure extreme chewing forces, Zirconia offers unmatched strength and durability.
Thanks to our CEREC CAD/CAM technology, we can often complete your entire inlay or onlay procedure in a single, 2-hour visit.
The tooth is numbed with local anaesthesia. All decay and any old filling material are carefully removed, and the tooth is shaped to perfectly receive the restoration.
Instead of messy putty impressions, we use a high-tech 3D camera to take a precise digital scan of your prepared tooth.
On the computer, our dentist designs your custom inlay or onlay for a perfect fit and bite.
The design is sent to our in-house CEREC milling machine, which carves your restoration from a solid block of E-Max or porcelain in about 15-20 minutes.
The dentist tries in the new piece, checks the fit and bite, and then permanently bonds it to your tooth. It's polished to a natural, smooth finish. You leave with your permanent restoration—no temporary required.
You are an ideal candidate for an inlay or onlay if you have:
Because they are fabricated from a solid block of high-strength porcelain, inlays and onlays are incredibly durable. With good oral hygiene, they can easily last 15-20 years or even a lifetime.
It's not about "better," but "more appropriate." An onlay is better if the damage is moderate because it is a more conservative treatment that saves more of your healthy tooth. A crown is better if the tooth is severely damaged, as it provides 360-degree protection.
A filling is a soft composite material packed directly into a cavity and hardened in your mouth. An inlay is a single, solid piece of porcelain made in a lab (or our CEREC machine) that is then bonded into the tooth. The inlay is stronger, more durable, and provides a better seal against bacteria.
The porcelain inlay cost in Turkey is very affordable. At our clinic, a premium E-Max or CEREC inlay typically costs between €200 and €350, whereas the same restoration in Germany or the UK could cost over €1,000.
No. The tooth is completely numbed with local anaesthesia before any preparation begins. The entire process is comfortable and pain-free.
In dentistry, high-resolution photographs are taken to evaluate the patient’s existing tooth structure and facial aesthetics. These photos are used to document and analyze the condition, color, and shape of the teeth and their harmony with the patient’s face.
Why is it important? Professional photographs help dentists and lab technicians plan the restoration process and achieve ideal aesthetic results.
5D scanning technology allows for highly precise digital scanning of teeth and oral structures. This technology goes beyond traditional 3D scans by capturing additional information such as color, texture, and movement.
Why is it important? 5D scanning enables the creation of detailed digital models of teeth, allowing for more accurate and personalized restorations. This accelerates the treatment process and provides a more comfortable experience for the patient.
Special dental burs are used for shaping teeth with minimal preparation and for the precise placement of restorations. These burs are high-precision and sharp instruments.
Dental laboratories equipped with advanced technology play a key role in the production of restorations. These labs use CAD/CAM systems, high-precision manufacturing devices, and biocompatible materials.
